For all our coder friends out there, over the past two weeks our team has been making quite a few additions articy:draft X’s Macro Development Kit. Starting with MDK version 2.3.6 through today’s release of MDK version 2.4.0 we’ve been introducing new capabilities designed to make plugin development more powerful, streamline asset management workflows, and improve working with large projects.
Here is a rundown of the most important recent additions:
Create and Modify Rulesets via Code (V2.4.0)
You (or your devs) can now create and modify Rulesets directly from code. To see it in action, have a look at the usage sample of creating a new ruleset and returning a handle to manipulate the ruleset further using the API.
New ImportAssets Bulk Operation (v2.3.6)
Managing large numbers of assets is now easier thanks to the new ImportAssets bulk operation. Import multiple assets in a single operation and reduce repetitive tasks.
Smart Bulk Updates for Multiple Partitions (v2.3.6)
Projects with multiple partitions can now benefit from smart bulk update functionality, making it easier to keep large datasets synchronized while minimizing unnecessary processing.
Check for Updates More Efficiently (v2.3.6)
Two new methods have been added to help you monitor project changes:
– Check whether a single partition has updates.
– Bulk check multiple partitions to identify which ones have changed.
These additions make it easier to build efficient synchronization and validation workflows.
Settings Folder Available as ObjectProxy (v2.3.6)
The Settings folder is now available as an ObjectProxy. In addition, this update resolves an issue where ValidatePublishing could receive a null partition root when submitting the Settings partition
Important Compatibility Note
Updating to MDK 2.4.0 also requires updating articy:draft X to version 4.3.13 which is also released today.
Check the changelog for a full list of updates in articy:draft X version 4.3.13
⚠️Please be aware: If you use ObjectPickerDialog in your plugins, you will need to upgrade your plugins and to use
in the PluginManifest.xml File
