Reference to Entity/Object from category as Property?

Tue 21. Feb 2017, 07:07

I think this would be great. And also an Array, Dictionary or List property supporting this?

Hi Duffer123,

I'm not sure if I understand your request correctly. Can you please explain your suggestion in more detail?
Thank you!

@Julius,

Apologies to be firing questions at you today.

The functionality on this one may already be in place and I'm just not seeing it.

So what I'm suggesting is that as well as Properties having bool, number and string values they could also have a type of Entity as a value ie. A type of item, element or skill...

Combine that with my suggestion of lists or arrays and you have a huge boost to functionality.... ;)

It sounds like you are refering to our Slots and Strips.
You can use those to reference any articy:draft object in a template, here is a zone template from our demo project "Maniac Manfred"

Image

As you can see, the property for "If condition is true" is in this instance of the template refering to the dialogue "The Therapist".

Strips work almost the same, but instead of a single object you can reference as many as you want.
For Dictionary we unfortunately don't have a solution yet, but there are workarounds using templates for the objects inside the strip.

Hope that answers your question

Best regards
