Perforce connection problems

Thu 5. Mar 2015, 16:02

Hello,
I'm trying to connect to Perforce, but I receive error:
"The given Perforce server has denied the connection with the following message:
'Exception occured: Invalid Login!
Client 'xxx' requires an application that can fully support streams.'

I'm using correct credentials for sure, checked it 25 times. And we're using latest Perforce and we have a lot of stream depots which work fine.

Hello Nikitablack,
I just asked the developers what could fix this issue.

"This is a known problem when trying to connect to a perforce streams depot.
This special type of perforce depot is currently not supported by the 3rd party library articy:draft is using.
Please use a “local” depot for articy:draft."

I hope this helps.

Best regards,
Martin (and Peter)

Thank you, Martin. I managed it on my machine. Since I have admin rights I have no problems with creating/importing a project. But we have problems on regular user's machines. When the user tries to create an articy project he always have:
Activating source control system
! The given Perforce server has denied the connection with the following message:
'Error running Perforce command!
Error in client specification.
Mapping '//articy/test/...' is not under '//some_folder/...'.
'
The most common reason are typose in the credentials or connection issues.
If you cancel the password-dialog, the whole operation will be cancelled.
If not, a new connection attempt will be started.

!!! Loging to the source control system has failed or was aborted.

Here //articy is the name of the local depot. And test is the name of the new project.
I have no idea why it tries to map to '//some_folder/...'. Since there so few options for perforce setup I simply don't know what to do.

Thanks for the update, Nikita. I have seen your email, we'll get in touch with you to narrow this further down and get it fixed, then I'll update the forums with a solution.

All the best, and thanks for your help.

As it turned out, it was my mistake - I mistyped the depot path, used the wrong case. It should be //Depot but I used //depot
