JSON contains hierarchy for all objects

Tue 27. Jun 2017, 20:09

Hi,

I've got articy:draft set up to export two separate JSON files. One is designated as my "Core" elements, and another is set up as the "MainCampaign" elements. The intention is that I can create a JSON file for each new story and distribute separately as DLC.
The core package contains no flow elements in the Package, yet it has the entire hierarchy contained in the "Hierarchy" JSON section. It looks like the exporter is ignoring whether or not the object exists in the package and has it appear in the Heirachy for every JSON file regardless. This doesn't seem right to me.

I hope I've explained, but if not I can provide samples.

Cheers!

Hi RisingSun,

indeed, the Hierarchy node doesn't make much sense in your case. The Hierarchy is mainly used for single file exports and even then only for some rather rare usecases.
In the last update of articy:draft 3.1.0.31613 I added the option to disable specific blocks from the JSON export. With that feature it is possible to exclude the Hierarchy in the JSON export:

Let me know if that helps!

Best regards
