How to rearrange flow easily?

Sat 29. Mar 2014, 16:44

Hi,

I'm trying to change the "level" of flow objects in the flow.

I have 3 flow objects in a flow diagram. But now I want to make those other two flow objects inside the first flow object.

How do I do this easily, without breaking all my connections?

I did it through the tree view on the left but all my connections got destroyed. I don't even remember exactly what I wrote for each one.

Hello LordYabo,

If I got you right, you have drawn connections between all three nodes and used connection labels to add text, right?

I'd recomment you copy all three nodes into the clipboard (CTRL+C or context menu) and then submerge in the node you want to use as container. Inside the node, paste all 3 nodes. You now have duplicated node 1 and put it inside itself, but at least all your connections and labels are still there.

Now, you can just re-wire the nodes inside node 1 by selecting a connection and dragging the start/end handles to other pins. After you have moved all connections away from the redundand nodes, you can delete those.

Did that help?

Best,
-Kai

Yes.

I used Cut & Paste and when I pasted all the interconnections (including the text) were gone. Sounds like copy retains the interconnections which is what I wanted.
