StageDirection && MenuText

Hi,

I have a strange problem, I wana retrieve stage direction or menuText wich handle my date :

In Unity it's give me :
42,865.57

But If I put

10/05/2017-13:40:09

or

a10/05/2017 13:40:09

I got this strings well

How Can I handle that? I have a parser wich parse all my date on this format, and lot of template with this format :/

EDIT: it's seem it's parse for me the string in DateTime, but I don't want that, can I bypass that? :/

I Go same kind of problem with the text:

The "<" is not display, but if I put

Code: Select all
Heey !<3 <3 _<3


All the "<" are here, I do not find what happen, if a parsing it's do like for dates, have you an answer please?

ugh, that seems nasty, i think i must have a string conversion somewhere. I try to track it down an fix it, thanks for reporting!

Hi Zeldarck,

so i tried to reproduce it, but couldn't found where this conversion could take place.

How are you displaying the StageDirections? Can you just Debug.Log it, is it the same? Whats the value in the database view?
Could you check in the articyu3d export file if the issue is already in there?

I even tried the <3 one, but this one also works, so without a weird locale issue, i suspect your way to display those texts. Are you using TextMesh Pro for example?

The Debug.Log it's same, and I use the default UI Text

When I searched information you asked, I found that in loc_All objects_en.xlsx :

Ah! good catch, it was related to the localization.

I use ClosedXML to write the excel files, and it tries to convert to DateTime if it recognizes the format. I didn't catch it the first time, because i only tried without localization as i was expecting it somewhere in the plugin.
I found a way to force plain text output into the excel files when exporting. Unfortunately the issue was in articy:draft and the turn around times for a new version are longer than if it would be only in the plugin.
But we are currently preparing a new articy:draft version to be released in the coming weeks. The fix will be part of it.

In the meantime the only workaround would be to temporarily go without localization or modify the excel file by hand and forcing all cells to text(which might change the values).

Nice, it correct the "<3" problem too ? :)

So I will wait this version, it's not a point wich prevent me to work, so it's ok to wait :)

While i couldn't reproduce that one, i spoke with a coworker more proficient in ClosedXML and its likely to be caused by the same problem and your system locale.
But our QA will have a look into it.

Problem was correct with last version for date, thank you :)

The problem on the "<3" come when I select export in rich text Unity and not plain text. In my project I don't need rich text for the moment so I put plain text, but I think it's still a bug, no? :)
