Set Up AI Extensions

AI Extensions for barks, dialogues, and preview images is one of the new features of articy:draft X.

Connect your OpenAI account to articy:draft X for AI assisted content for prototyping, or for playing around with some ideas.

How to set up AI Extensions


The AI Extensions plugin is automatically installed with articy:draft X. If you want to use AI Extensions, make sure that the plugin is active 1 in the Plugin Manager 2.



MULTI-USER If in a multi-user setting the AI Extensions plugin is not shown in your Plugin Manager, please talk to your server administrator, they might have disabled the plugin for all users.

Open the articy.cfg with any text editor. You can find it in %Appdata%\Articy Software\articy\4.x

Look for the entry ; -ai.openai.apikey YOUR_API_KEY. Replace the YOUR_API_KEY part with your Open AI API key and remove the leading semicolon to uncomment the entry. Save the articy.cfg file and restart articy:draft.

Is my API key safe with you?
The content of the articy.cfg file will not be part of log files that you might send to our customer support in case of any issues. We do not use your key in any other way than to make a connection to the OpenAI services. As the articy.cfg is located in your personal user profile, other users on a shared machine do not have access to it.


 
You may access Third Party Services through articy:draft in accordance with the applicable laws and the terms of use of the Third Party Service. Articy itself has no control over the Third Party Service and is not responsible for the results and content of the Third Party Services, it merely provides the option to access the Third Party Service. If you choose to use these services, you are obliged to enter into your own contract with the provider of the Third Party Services and to create a user account. Articy does not collect, analyze, or use any data that you send to such Third Party Services. This applies to all articy:draft versions, including the FREE version and the Multi-User Trial.


 
The Third Party Service providers may require a paid API account and charge fees for the use of their services. Any transactions will be processed through your account with the Third Party Service in question. Articy itself has no control over the Third Party Service and is not responsible for the charges to your Third Party Services account. Articy does not charge any additional fees for the use of the AI extensions and does not receive any commission from the Third Party Service providers.


Disabling AI Extensions
