Slots & Strips
Slots & Strips are property types that allow to contain links to other articy objects. Those linked objects are visualized in almost the same way as they are in the tiles view.

A slot may contain exactly one link and is very similar to the speaker property of a dialogue fragment while a strip may contain as many links as you want to. For both types it is possible to define what kind of objects can be linked to them.

The first hierarchical level contains all basic object types. The second level offers the possibility to only allow objects with a specific template.
The checkbox can have the following states:
1 Unchecked: No objects of that type (regardless of their template) are allowed.
2 Filled: Only objects with specific (checked) templates are allowed.
3 Checked: All objects of that type (regardless of their template) are allowed
In addition to the template selection, for assets it is possible to restrict a reference property to certain file-types like images or documents.
Alternatively, right click a Slot, select Choose Target from the context menu 4, and select the desired object from the list 5. Please note, that only allowed objects set in the template’s constraints are displayed.
For a Strip either right-click anywhere within the Strip or left-click on the burger menu 6 that appears when hovering over a Strip to open the context menu 7. Here you can add or remove objects.
If no object is selected, new elements will be added to the end. If an object is selected and you add a new object to the Strip, it will be added in front of the selected object 8.
You can drag and drop an element to reposition it 9.

If your Strip has a lot of elements and you are looking for a specific one, click the magnifying glass icon for the Advanced view 10. Here you have several sorting options 11 and can filter for a specific name 12.

Object handling
For both Slot and Strip properties, you can add single elements via drag and drop from the Navigator.Alternatively, right click a Slot, select Choose Target from the context menu 4, and select the desired object from the list 5. Please note, that only allowed objects set in the template’s constraints are displayed.
For a Strip either right-click anywhere within the Strip or left-click on the burger menu 6 that appears when hovering over a Strip to open the context menu 7. Here you can add or remove objects.
Similar to Slots, the selection list only displays objects that were selected in the template’s constraint options. However, for a Strip you can select multiple objects and, where applicable, use Ctrl + Click to select an object and all its children.

The described behavior for object handling does not apply only to Strip properties in Templates but occurs in all reference strips, for example in Dialogue Nodes or Flow Fragments.
