Template in separated view

Thu 1. May 2014, 10:47

Often I'm working in AutoCAD and noticed that it is very helpful a Properties window containing the settings of the selected object. Such a window in articy would be very helpful. Now, you can open Templates via Navigator, but it's impossible to open them in a separate window when you press on the subject.

Hi again, Neotix!

That feature already exists, and there are two ways to get there:

1) Open the "Property Monitor" (or "Property Inspector", depending on your version) on the home screen.

Or 2) Activate "Syncing" on any given pane for the same behavior. The system will then try to keep the selected view of the pane that's now "listening" to selected objects.

(1 = syncing off / 2 = syncing on)

Does this do the job for you?

Cheers,

We're really good at hiding away some of the most useful features ;).

In fact, with the current way we store projects, saving requires a bit of time and cannot be done "in the background" while you're working, so it wouldn't be convenient to interrupt you every now and then for a couple of seconds. But for the upcoming versions we have reworked the storage format towards faster saving and loading, so auto-save will become more of an option.
