Hi nhutchinson,
The XML export was one of our first exports and was the lowest level of export functionality. It was meant to export everything the user could create in a project. Its main purpose was to allow the user to say "Just give me everything, we take care of everything else".
For more flexible exports we recently added our so called
Ruleset exports, those allow you to configure which objects and what properties those objects should export with. At this point we support only JSON as this was the most requested export format and ofc the unity engine export(using json). We didn't add XML for those exports because then we would have 2 different XML exports which might confuse some people and the demand was in the beta fairly low.
Long story short: You can either write a bit custom code to only extract information from the XML you actually need. You could use our JSON bundle export or finally you could use our MDK, write a custom plugin for articy:draft and extract the data yourself circumvent our export features completely.
Hope that gives you an idea if you need anything else let me know!
Best regards
Nico
