Modify direction field to accept newlines ?

Hi,
Is it possible to use plugins to override how the dialogue fragment behaves?
At the moment I would like to change the Stage Directions field to be multi-line text input instead of one line.

I would GREATLY benefit from this as well. Is there any way?
