As we hinted earlier this month, after intense search and with a lot of help from our community, we found our brand new Unreal Developer. We are delighted to introduce to you Lionel Pinkhard.
By bridging the gap between articy:draft’s robust narrative tools and the immersive Unreal Engine, I am contributing to a synergy that will elevate the art of game development. The thrill of shaping interactive worlds and breathing life into virtual experiences propels me forward, knowing that my work will empower creators to craft captivating stories and immerse players in unforgettable adventures. “
Articy: Welcome Lionel, can you tell us a bit about your background?
Lionel: Prior to my current role, I had the privilege of working as a game developer at Illuvium, where I contributed to the development of Illuvium Arena and Illuvium Zero. Before my foray into the gaming industry, I honed my skills as a software engineer in the telecommunications and cloud technologies sector. This role provided me with valuable insights into network infrastructure, communication protocols, and the intricacies of cloud-based systems. It was a challenging and rewarding experience, as I collaborated with teams to build robust and scalable solutions to meet the evolving demands of the industry. Additionally, I have a solid foundation in full-stack web development, enabling me to create dynamic and user-friendly web applications. This experience has allowed me to explore different technologies and frameworks, expand my problem-solving abilities, and deliver high-quality solutions to clients and end-users alike.
Articy: What can you tell us about yourself that most people wouldn’t know about you?
Lionel: One interesting thing about me that most people wouldn’t know is my passion for astrophotography. I love capturing stunning images of the night sky and celestial objects. In addition to that, I enjoy tennis, am an avid board game enthusiast, and love attending air shows.
Articy: Would you like to share something from your gaming history?
Lionel: One notable experience from my gaming history was playing the text-based adventure game Zork, which sparked my love for interactive storytelling and gaming in general. Additionally, participating in challenging raids with friends in World of Warcraft fostered teamwork, camaraderie, and a sense of accomplishment. These early gaming experiences have shaped my appreciation for games as a medium of entertainment, storytelling, and social connection
We are extremely happy to have Lionel in our team and will make sure he feels right at home here at Articy.
