The project selector SINGLE-USER

The project selector lists all projects that you've created and opened before in your articy:draft installation 1. The projects listed here are shortcuts to project files on your hard disk. You can open a project by double-clicking it. The little "house" icon 2 indicates that the project is a locally stored single-user project.

Creating projects / Opening projects from file

You can create a new project by clicking the "Create new project" button. This will bring up an easy-to-use creation assistant. See here for details on project creation.

If you have other projects that don't appear in the project selector (because articy:draft doesn't know them yet), you can open them from file 3.

Right-clicking a project in the project selector presents additional options.
4 Open project: Opens the project in the same way as a double click on the project tile
5 Remove project from list: Removes project from project selector, but keeps the files on disk
6 Delete project: Removes project completely
7 Clone project: Creates a copy of the project. An empty folder needs to be selected for the copy
8 Open containing folder: Opens an Explorer to the project’s save location

The project selector MULTI-USER

The project selector in multi-user mode lists all projects that are accessible to you on the connected server. In order to get access to a new project, a project administrator needs to add your articy:draft user to the project's staff. Once this is done, the project in question is automatically listed here.

Please note the little world icon in the upper right corner of every project. This symbolizes, that the project is not only stored on your local harddisk but the actual master data is kept safe on a server that could possibly be anywhere in the world.

Creating projects / Importing projects to server

You can also create a new server project by clicking the "Create new project" button 9. This will bring up an easy-to-use creation assistant. See here for details on project creation.

If you want to import a project to the server to make it accessible to your team members, click the "Import project" button 10. This lets you import single-user projects that you've prepared for the team and migrate them onto the server. See here for details.

Right-click context menu

Right-clicking a project in the project selector presents additional options. If you do not have a specific user right for an option it will be greyed out.

11 Open project: Opens the project in the same way as a double click on the project tile
12 Open project (exclusively): Opens the project in exclusive mode (only for project administrators)
13 Remove project folder: Removes local project folder.
14 Open containing folder: Opens an Explorer to the project’s local save location
15 Publish all changes and unclaim partition(s): Quickly publish changes and unclaim own partitions without having to open the application. However, no custom commit comment is possible.
16 View/Edit settings for source control system: View the current settings of the source control system. Only a project administrator can edit settings.
17 Enforce unclaiming of all partitions: if the project gets into a bad state that can‘t be resolved otherwise this command removes all claims and ends a possible exclusive mode. This will result in the loss of any unpublished changes. If a team member left a claim behind you should first try to use the enforce unclaim command from within the project to remove a single-partitions claim. (only for project administrators).
